On arrival
Use the public arrivals/departures forecourt or pavement at Zaragoza-Delicias, keeping the full terminal volume in view.
Look closer
Look at the vast roof and glazed/concrete scale, then turn back toward the old station to compare two radically different ideas of railway architecture in one view.
The tracks remain, but the meaning and scale of the gateway have changed.
Finish with the building that makes the previous stop look almost miniature. Zaragoza-Delicias opened in May 2003 as an intermodal complex for trains and buses. Zaragoza Tourism credits Carlos Ferrater, José María Valero and Félix Arranz; municipal film-office documentation emphasises its huge halls, glass and concrete, high roof and transport functions. The contrast with the old Caminreal station is the point. Delicias was shaped by rail long before high-speed trains arrived, but the new terminal recast the neighbourhood as a metropolitan and regional gateway on a far larger scale. Step back enough to take in the roof and volume. The route ends where it began: mobility can connect a district to the wider city while also demanding enormous pieces of urban space.
Accessibility at this stop
Active intermodal station with passenger accessibility services, but exact lifts, platform access, temporary works and route-specific step-free continuity require current verification.
These notes describe known conditions at this stop. Urban conditions can change, so assess the situation on site.
