On arrival
Observe the detached three-story building located at the public corner of Gran Via de Jaume I, 66.
Look closer
Symmetrical three-story corner building with deep floating roof eaves, exterior pilasters, vertical window bands, and green-glazed ceramic trim.
Central European regionalism meets Girona's Eixample expansion, shaped by pragmatic design adjustments.
Proceed along the boulevard to Gran Via de Jaume I, 66 to view this detached corner residence completed in 1923. Built in the Eixample district created after demolishing the nineteenth-century Santa Clara bastion, the building reflects Central European regionalist influences adapted into Catalan Noucentisme. Observe the deep floating eaves roof supported by exterior pilasters, vertical window bands, and green-glazed ceramic detailing. Archival blueprints reveal that Masó originally designed a prominent corner tower for the residence, but budget constraints during construction forced its removal, resulting in the current flat eaves line. Despite the missing tower, the building remains a landmark of Girona's modern urban expansion.
