Who Keeps the Night Running?

6 stops3.6 kmFree
Start tour
Barcelona's night was built before it was branded. Wholesale workers moved food while much of the city slept. Gaslight stretched the social day. The Raval's night economy was repeatedly regulated and displaced. The Paral·lel industrialised entertainment. Electricity workers proved they could switch a metropolis dark, and wartime residents sometimes spent entire nights below ground. This six-stop walk follows night as infrastructure rather than a list of bars or ghost stories. Most of what matters is visible from public space — including some things that have disappeared precisely because the city changed how night works.
