The horror here does not need a ghost story

On arrival

Enter Plaça de Sant Felip Neri quietly and face the church facade from a respectful distance, bearing in mind that a school still uses the square.

Look closer

Look for the concentrated impact damage on the stone facade and distinguish it from ordinary weathering or decorative texture.

Some dark history is already dark enough when told accurately.

Sant Felip Neri is where the route changes tone. On 30 January 1938, during the bombing of Barcelona, a bomb from the Italian Aviazione Legionaria struck the square and killed 42 people, many of them children sheltering nearby. Damage remains visible on the church facade. This is documented violence, not entertainment-grade darkness, and the stop should be treated accordingly. Do not invent a supernatural frame because the setting is atmospheric. Look at the marks in the stone, read the explanatory material in the square if present, and allow the physical evidence to do the work. Transparency also means knowing when not to embellish.

Accessibility at this stop

Small enclosed square reached through narrow approaches and used by a functioning school. Crowd, surface and step-free conditions require current human verification.

These notes describe known conditions at this stop. Urban conditions can change, so assess the situation on site.
