The Legacy of the Alarifes
You've finished the "Bricks, Guilds, and Enclaves: Mudéjar Craftsmen of San Pablo" tour.

You have walked the urban footprint of Zaragoza's extramuros expansion, from the segregated market gates of the Morería to the grand guild lanes and parish heart of San Pablo. Though many historic walls and towers have succumbed to urban clearance over the centuries, the geometry of the alarifes remains embedded in the street pattern and structural brickwork of El Gancho.

Delicias, Built Around the Tracks
Zaragoza

Delicias is not Zaragoza's postcard district, which is exactly why it is worth walking. Railways, the Madrid road, factories and new housing transformed an agricultural edge into a dense neighbourhood, while the same infrastructure also cut it off from the city around it. This route follows seven places where Delicias was repeatedly divided, supplied, housed, demanded and reconnected. You will see a former level crossing turned into a civic square, planned low-cost housing, an everyday market, a park born after resident pressure, a fish market recycled as a civic centre and two stations that disagree even about one historical date.
