MOVE — give buses a roof big enough to become a piece of city

On arrival

Stand within the public passenger areas or outside edge of ÚAN Zvonařka where the immense roof/deck can be read without entering bus-only circulation.

Look closer

Look at the depth and repetition of the roof structure overhead, then at the newer brighter surfaces inserted beneath the retained structural frame.

The final job is movement — and the building survives by being redesigned around people who are waiting to move.

End at Zvonařka, where the assignment becomes pure logistics. Radúz Russ's central bus station was developed around the turn from the 1970s into the 1980s as a large transport machine: passengers below, buses arriving and departing, and an upper deck capable of handling parked vehicles. The planned complex was never realised exactly as first imagined, and decades of hard use made the station increasingly hostile to passengers. Its recent modernisation by CHYBIK + KRISTOF deliberately kept the main structural idea while changing light, finishes and the experience underneath the roof. That is a useful ending: infrastructure can survive because designers edit it, not because they freeze it.
