You used the new city as its first visitors did: not as an architecture exhibition, but as a machine for meeting, choosing, travelling and belonging. The clean lines now carry human consequences.
Post-war Brno is full of buildings people try to classify before they have even looked at them. Brutalist? Communist? Modernist? Concrete? This seven-stop walk asks a more revealing question: what job was each place designed to perform? An opera house had to stage civic culture. A party headquarters had to govern. A hotel had to impress foreign visitors. A bunker had to keep leaders alive. Apartment blocks had to test new ways of building, an arena had to entertain thousands, and a bus station had to move a region. The architecture changes when the assignment changes.
