The inscription is real. The one you see is a copy.

On arrival

Find Carrer de Marlet 1 and locate the Hebrew inscription on the facade without entering private property.

Look closer

Look closely at the inscription as a public marker, then remember that the original stone is preserved by MUHBA rather than exposed here.

The route finally gives you a genuine medieval connection — via a nineteenth-century placement and a modern copy.

Carrer de Marlet replaces vague 'Jewish Quarter mystery' with something much better: a documented object and a documented institution. MUHBA's guide to the Call records a charitable foundation associated with Samuel ben Isaac ha-Sardi near Marlet and Arc de Sant Ramon. A Hebrew inscription connected with that history was incorporated into the facade in the nineteenth century. The stone visible on the street today is a copy; MUHBA holds the original. That small twist is perfect for this route. Authenticity is not a binary choice between real and fake. A copy can honestly mark the location of a real historical object, provided we tell you it is a copy.

Accessibility at this stop

Very narrow historic street. The object is visible from public space, but viewing distance, pavement condition and step-free access require human verification.
