A magic story written onto the street

On arrival

Begin around Carrer d'Estruc 10 and walk slowly along the short street, looking for plaques and unusual facade details rather than one monumental object.

Look closer

Read the modern plaques as objects in their own right: note their material, placement and authoritative visual tone before judging the historical claims they contain.

The route starts with a warning: a story can look ancient long before it becomes proven.

Carrer d'Estruc is a good place to learn Streetours' basic rule: signage is evidence that somebody displayed a story, not automatic proof that the story happened exactly as written. The street name itself is old and documented from the fourteenth century. The esoteric plaques and narratives about Astruc Sacanera, magic and the pedra escurçonera are a much later public layer promoted by Ricard Bru. Look for the plaques and the unusual symbols around the street, but keep two questions separate. When was this street named? Much earlier. When was this particular magical interpretation turned into visible urban storytelling? Much later. The tension between those answers is the point.

Accessibility at this stop

Narrow central-city street with variable pavement and possible service traffic. Exact step-free route and safe stopping point require human or on-site verification.
